As a little girl Tammy Terrell would sing and imitate her mothers singing group for hours. She loved to act and dance at a very young age.

Fun Facts: Did you know the author was named after the 1960's singing sensation Tammi Terrell? The singer was signed by Motown at the age of 15 and became a back up singer for James Brown.  The author would write her first poem at 15 and sang in a church choir as Tammi Terrell once did at a young age.

The singers break through record Irresistible topped R&B charts and the no. 1 hit with Marvin Gaye Ain't No Mountain High Enough brought the young singer to national success. 

Both author and singer share common interest in music and writing. Both were the eldest of their siblings and had similar birth names before using their sir names.

For Me

For some the Poem Journey speaks to pain and struggle. I see it also as more of a homecoming for me. 

For me, breaking down hidden barriers, conquering my fears and pain has always been part of my everyday life.

Others say my writing speaks to self-empowerment, faith, a simplistic view of logic and reality. I believe that to be true just as well as I see my writing as simply realistic in itself.
